Warsaw | Mazowsze on Screen - A Tribute to Andrzej Wajda

During the Year of Andrzej Wajda, established by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, we will pay tribute to one of the greatest figures in Polish cinema by recalling the director's remarkable collaboration with Mazowsze Ensemble during the production of Pan Tadeusz. It was for this film that Michał Jarczyk choreographed the unforgettable Polonaise to the music of Wojciech Kilar—one of the most iconic sequences in the history of Polish cinema.

One of the highlights of the event will be a performance of the Polonaise by the artists of Mazowsze with audience members. This symbolic dance will commemorate the inscription of the Polonaise on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Guests will also have the opportunity to view archival footage, photographs, and documents related to the making of Pan Tadeusz.

The event will culminate in a concert by Mazowsze’s renowned choir, ballet group and orchestra, conducted by Maestro Jacek Boniecki.
