Join us in Karolin for a special reading of Juliusz Słowacki's Kordian, as part of the 2024 National Reading campaign. Initiated in 2012 by the Polish Presidential Couple, Andrzej Duda and Agata Kornhauser-Duda, the campaign invites schools, public institutions, social and cultural centres and individuals to take part, uniting people around reading and deepening understanding of Polish literature.
This year’s chosen text is an iconic work of Polish Romanticism, written by one of the “Three Bards” of Polish literature and published in 1834. Pieces by Romantic composers, played by Mazowsze musician, Dr. Krzysztof Ostrowski, will provide a musical backdrop for the reading.
** Please note that excerpts from Kordian will be read in Polish.
